What makes Lemmon Avenue more than a med spa is our level of expertise and the full suite of cosmetic options available at our medical aesthetics facility. From injections to lasers to plastic surgery, we provide unmatched care and results. Our medical director is a board-certified plastic surgeon, meaning he has specific medical training related to aesthetics, not some unrelated field of medicine.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Because we emphasize education at our Dallas medical aesthetics facility, we hear a lot of questions from our patients. For your convenience, we kept track of those FAQs.
Skin ages due to a combination of factors, both intrinsic and external. Over time, cells don’t function as efficiently which leads to slower production of things like collagen and elastin, proteins that keep skin plump and elastic. Damage from the sun compounds the effects of natural aging, as do habits like eating a poor diet and smoking.
No, aesthetic treatments are not only for women! More and more men are embracing the benefits of caring for their skin and appearance.
Yes! You should not have anything done by a facility that is not directed by a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Medical Association for the certification of plastic surgeons is the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Physicians certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery…
- have specialized residency training
- have successfully completed rigorous oral and written examinations in plastic surgery
- are held to high ethical standards
- are required to pursue continuing education to maintain and develop their skills
You can contact the state medical board, the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, or the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery to double check a surgeon’s credentials. Don’t be fooled, a “cosmetic surgeon” may not be a plastic surgeon!
We don’t think of plastic surgery or noninvasive aesthetic treatment as competitors, so one is not better than another. Both provide incredible results that help our patients achieve their goals, and each have their benefits and drawbacks. Not everyone can undergo surgery for a variety of reasons. Some patients don’t have time for long recovery times and want fast results. In truth, a lot of patients find that a mixture of cosmetic surgery and noninvasive aesthetic treatments meet their goals better than either alone.
